So yeah, I bought the new foundation from Maybelline; Dream Liquid Mousse. I chose the palest version for myself, which is called Porcelain Ivory. I got it for 10$ at Walmart (but you can find it anywhere, really)
I decided to do a tutorial on how to apply this particular type of foundation. I will also review the product all along the post, what a cool girl, I know~
WARNING; The pictures in this post are UGLY XDD! Because I obviously needed to be makeupless, then I also pulled my hair back & I took off my shirt so we can see my face and my neck, so yeah these aren't the best pic of me LOL but I must live every morning with that face so I guess I can share it with you all :D!
Anyways, this is what you're gonna need;
-The DLM foundation
-Face cream / skin moisturizer...whatever you use before applying makeup
-Cosmetic sponge!
-Towel
-Lipbalm
But the most important you will need is;
Yourself with a shitty morning face \o/
First of all, wash your face. I know everybody knows this but nobody really do it. Still it is important to wash and moisturize your face before you put on some makeup.
Yes this is what I look like when I wash my face XD! Looks like a bad clean & clear ad, I know...
Then you put your facial cream on;
I promise you this tutorial is really serious stuff, don't quit my blog yet XDD! So I'm using a winter-care face & hand cream. It works perfectly and there is a cute penguin on the bottle \o/
Obviously you rub that cream all over your face;
Then you wait...mine takes a long while before penetrating the skin so that's where I put my lipbalm. It really has nothing to do with the tutorial I just wanted to put some lipbalm on.
Okay now the serious stuff. Take your foundation (If you don't know how to choose the right color for yourself, look at the end of this post, I will add the famous trick to do so)
Good.
Now you pour a little amount of it on the back of your hand and you dip your sponge right into it!
After you apply it on your face with your sponge (I really like to do that it so cool XDD)
I know girls often use their makeup brush to apply foundation but I don't like that method :\ The brushes add way to much of fdn for my taste, while the sponge adds just a little amount of it. The sponge also blends better onto the skin, in my point of view. So yeah, you apply your fdn everywhere you want it to be.
For the tutorial, I covered my face and neck with the foundation but note that you aren't obligated to do so. I prefer to apply it at specific areas (like on my forehead T__T I have blisters there because of my uniform's hat...then my glasses also do that to the side of my head)
Here, I did only MY right side so you can compare. I had an hard time picturing it because of my bathroom lights and especially because of my camera's flash. Pay attention to my jaw. The left side (without fdn) is much more reddish and you can see all the "imperfection" of the skin. While the right side is quite smooth and even.
Here again you can look at my forehead and see how "imperfect" my left side is.
So I added the mousse everywhere and then I just wiped off a little bit of it in the middle of my forehead. Yet again it's quite noticeable. You can see the makeupless whole is reddish and less perfect than the skin around.
I guess it works then! As for myself, I really like this product. It is pretty light, you don't need to put a big layer of it for it to actually works. It lasted long all day and it never faded nor bleeded. I didn't feel like wearing fdn at all! And yes you can touch your face without removing it and no it's not sticky.
The mousse itself is quite "moussey" for a lack of better word. I mean, if you ever drop de bottle, it's not gonna spill all over the place. You can even lock the bottle so it won't shit in your purse,what a deal.
There were also alot of versions for that product so I'm sure you can all find your skin tone. Urhm what more can I say? Well it's a good product. You don't need no counselor or anything else really. Just your fdn and a cosmetic sponge :D! For 10 dollars it's more than fair enough. If you have any foundation to buy, go with dream liquid mousse!
Sofie's opinion on Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation from Maybelline is 5/5!
On another hand, here's the ultimate trick to find the good color of foundation for you! So take the fdn and apply it on the back of your hand like so;
Blend it very well and look;
Can you still see it? No, well that's the right color then :D!
Easy, Breezy, Beautiful; MAYBELLINE HA! If covergirl ever see this I'm dead. Hey I just remember that Maybelline used M:I' theme song for one of their commercial \o/
Anyways that's all! Byebyes!
