1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Planned and paid for my first grown-up vacation!

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
No. I think I'll try to keep them this year, but I'll also make them more generalized. I think I put too much pressure on myself and my resolution this year is to be gentler to myself.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope, unless you can't Hanson, who are giving birth every 3-4 months on a pretty regular schedule.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thank goodness.

5. What countries did you visit?
North America only and I don't think it can be counted as "visiting" haha...

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
Money sense. I pretty much dwindled my entire savings this year and while I had fun and don't regret it, it'd be nice to have a cushion again.

7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The first snow of the year. We were all in the bar and everyone was coming in and out with snowflakes in their hair. I love how snow has the ability to make everyone giddy and like little kids again. It was magical.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Not necessarily an achievement in the traditional sense, but I think...becoming a happier person and finding love again.

9. What was your biggest failure?

A tie between my Canon Rebel Xsi and my Macbook.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
There have been a lot of small heroes this year. I can't even count the number of news stories I've read where people donated their time or resources to their neighbors or community or even strangers. Just this morning, there was a news-story of a man who offered to get laid off so his friend and coworker (who had four children, one of whom had a disability) could keep his job. The current economy has brought out the worst in some, but the best in others.

The large auto manufacturer CEOs, the bank CEOs, anyone who took a multi-million dollar bonuses while giant layoffs were happening.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"I can say I hope it will be worth what I give up...Change, change, change, I want to get up out of my skin. Tell you what - if I can shake it, I'm 'a make this something worth dreaming of" - L.E.S. Artists, Santogold
