first day of classes...
First day of classes were overwhelming, exciting and not yet intellectually stimulating - though I'm sure that's to come. I've about 30 professors for 3 classes. You do the math. Social Anthropology will probably be my favorite. Dr Stan Frankland gave the general introduction lecture today and he's pretty much amazing. 70s shirt + caustic wit = rather charming.
Being so far away for so long makes me sad. Hmmm... *muses at the possibility of coming home in November*... we'll see.
On the way back from town I saw two egrets flying together. They weren't next to each other or very close at all, but they both knew that they'd keep going in the same direction. They trusted each other to lead and follow respectively, and I guess that gave me hope.
Alright, enough sentimentality for today.
