Gabriel was nervous. That was the simplest way to describe how he was feeling in that moment, at least. Of course there were other feelings mixed into it all, but nerves were what were in control in that moment, and made him fidget in his seat the whole time.
It wasn’t as though he didn’t want what was to come, he truly did, but he was worrying about everything bad that could potentially happen as he did in most situations, and in this one there were many to pick from. She was his daughter, after all, and he was quite sure that if she showed any signs of not liking him then Leo would leave him - not that he would blame him, if he had a daughter who disliked his partner, he’d leave them, because his daughter would come first. Still, if that was what was bound to happen, he would have rather had it happen in a year from now, so that they could at least get the most out of their relationship.
He’d tried to convince him, albeit subtly that maybe the week would be best spent alone, so that he could get the most out of it with his daughter. He said he’d be fine, he could just go to school, after all, but the other had been insistent, and he’d folded like a bad hand in poker.
But that made him nervous, and made his fidgeting increase as they drew closer, so much so that he couldn’t even concentrate on the simple logic problems that he’d brought along to try to distract him.
