Finally caught an episode of FNL, and it's the season finale! Luckily the DVDs are coming out soon. So, Coach Taylor = Coriolanus, Y/N? ;)
Also rewatched the premier of Farscape. I'm still a bit iffy on the series as a whole, especially John, who seems a bit bland, if very nice and VERY easy on the eyes. But I do believe that Officer Aeryn Sun

In terms of an arc, yeah, I'd probably end it at Home Part II, because there is a certain amount of resolution. That said, I would likely keep in Flight of the Phoenix and The Final Cut, though I might switch their airing order around. FotP coming after TFC didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. The logic bomb infected Galactica's computers during Episode 2.01, back when Sharon was still on Caprica. It's implied during FotP that the Cylon armada might be coming to capture Sharon (about whose presence and pregnancy they know thanks to TFC). But the logic bomb wasn't designed to do anything except cripple Galactica. It could've just as easily sucked the oxygen out of the brig as of the shooting range.
If we switch the airing order around, the logic bomb and armada are a logical outgrowth of the actions taken in 2.01, with the aim being simply to wipe out Galactica. D'Anna subsequently goes from quietly sitting in the civilian fleet to sniffing around Galactica because the Cylons have no idea how the fuck Galactica managed to upload a Cylon-style virus to the attacking armada. Their need for information is now urgent enough to risk bringing D'Anna to official attention. And the information is that their rogue Eight is not only still alive, she's on Galactica, presumably cooperating to a certain extent, and most importantly pregnant. It also makes more dramatic sense for Sharon to nearly miscarry after the stress she puts her body through in FotP than to nearly miscarry for no particular reason and then in the very next ep start cutting her flesh open.
Sending the armada to capture Sharon, if in fact that's what they were trying to do, isn't a particularly good move from a tactical POV. The Colonials have to realise that she represents a high-value hostage. If the Cylons want to extract her alive, they can't shut down Galactica's life support. Which means boarding, and messy close quarters fighting. With lots of opportunities for Adama or similar to shoot Sharon in the head and make th boarding effort useless. If the Cylons want to extract Sharon, and presumably they do, they're much better off doing it stealthily, using D'Anna as an embed. A variant on Boomer's kiddie inna box scenario from Someone to Watch Over Me would be simpler and less risky.

RSI is much better than RSII, I agree. RSII has some great moments, but having Gina escape and kill Cain right after Adama called off the assassination was pretty weak. And I didn't care for that heavy-handed speech at the end that basically told us the opposite of what we'd been shown in an effort to seem even-handed (kind of like Adama's speech at the end of Razor.)
I guess I'm just unwilling to let go of the show until the very last moment before it started sucking.
I hear you! I'm even worse; I hate the thought of giving up certain scenes even right into Daybreak, so I may have to vote for "accept the finale but fanwanking like a crazy person," IDK.

*nod nod* Your reasoning is quite elegant. :) I agree; sending the armada after Sharon doesn't make a lot of sense, and if they were simply trying to wipe out Galactica, that doesn't make sense either given the way they reacted to finding out Sharon was still alive and still pregnant with the messiah-baby. The one problem is that tonally, Final Cut is all about the pilots' struggle and despair, and FoTP ended on such an uplifting note - before the gang-rape episodes - that that would be a little off, but not totally illogical.
