Le Novocaine.

Went to the dentist to get a cavity filled--my first! Now I have a nice shiny bit of metal on one of my teeth, and a numb lip. It feels so odd to feel my face and not have my face feel me back. Biting on my numb teeth feels like biting on a china plate. I never noticed how sensitive my mouth was until it couldn't feel anything!

While I was getting the cavity filled, the dentist, Dr Freed (whose wife is also a dentist, and is also Dr Freed...), let me watch the drilling and such in a mirror. The cavity looked like a blackhead on my tooth. It must be very satisfying to be a dentist and to get all the gunk out of people's cavities and seal them all up with the shiny metal pasty stuff. Anyway, it wasn't frightening at all once I could see what was going on, but the novocaine needle was. I wouldn't say that I have a fear of needles, but they are quite unsettling.

I also hung out with Le Sasha, and went into town, and bought Donnie Darko on DVD. Hooray for my ever-growing DVD collection.

ETA: And there's a shoebox update!! Oh man.
