This is my response to the Five Things Meme. I asked sirenofodysseus to give me a list of things she associates with me, and this is what she gave me:

Life with Derek, Books, Frogs, Babysitting, and The Mentalist.

Life With Derek: I'm pretty sure that this was the second fandom I wrote for, and the first well-established fandom. I wish this show was still producing more episodes, or at least in syndication. It was an awesome show (my favorite episode was Tuesday Afternoon Fever, now how amazing is that that I can remember the episode name?!). Casey and Derek make a highly amusing yet frequently exasperating pair, as everyone else around them, plus the show's viewers, can easily detect a strong attraction and affection between the two of them, but they are quite possibly two of television's most oblivious potential couples. Casey and Derek definitely cemented my love for constant banter that carries over into two of my favorite currently ongoing ships, Jane/Lisbon and Castle/Beckett. The fandom also introduced me to some of my first online friends. I miss talking to them since the fandom, once full of amazing writers, has kind of dropped off a bit since the show ended.

Books: I cannot imagine what my life would be without books! I've been reading since I was 2 1/2 (yes, you read that right) and have hardly put a book down since. My favorite genres are fantasy and historical fiction, and if the two are combined, then the book (should) be much better! I reread my favorites over and over again, to the point that my mother says "You're reading that book AGAIN?!" I've also been known to quote my favorites, and very often lines from my favorite books will pop into my head when triggered by certain events/thoughts/words. If you'd like to know an extensive list of my favorites or just want to talk about books, just ask, or head on over to my Goodreads. I am definitely addicted to the written word. (Just look at how much I've written so far. :P )

Frogs: I absolutely love frogs. (As if you couldn't tell that by my username...) I think they're adorable, and they overpopulate my bedroom. I wear a frog necklace every day, and I have all kinds of other frogs, mostly stuffed or plastic, and I even have an attack frog that guards my bookcase. ^_^  For a while my cell phone ringtone was frogs croaking. I'm definitely a crazy frog lady! :D

Babysitting: I may work at a pizza restaurant, but I frequently describe my job as "babysitting," since I effectively have to babysit most of the teenage guys (two in particular who happen to be my closest guy friends) as well as one of the managers. One of the female managers and I like to say that we need to put a sign over the door that says "Tina and Shelli's Babysitting Service," since we feel that's half of what we do, especially on Saturday nights. I've also been known to suggest a sign that says "Zoo" or "Asylum" because of what happens when the guys (one in particular) have had energy drinks. It's not pretty. I love my job, and I enjoy spending time with my friends, especially when one of the guys acts silly and makes jokes and I start cracking up, but sometimes I feel (and often say) that I don't get paid enough to babysit!

The Mentalist: This is the other fandom that I've written the most for, and Jane/Lisbon is my television OTP. I love Jane and Lisbon's banter and I love the dynamic between the two of them. Sadly the show sometimes doesn't live up to my expectations, but then there's always fanfic. (Sometimes I think some of the fanfics are better than the actual episodes!) I'm so lucky that the TM fandom has introduced me to so many amazing writers, including my best online friend, sirenofodysseus. Most of my friends here on livejournal I know from the TM fandom. Although I'm not active on fan sites like Paint It Red much, I would like to be, and I'm always reviewing stories by my favorite authors. I hope this show continues for many seasons to come and that it maintains its allure.

There's my five things! If you'd like five things in return that I associate with you, just ask. :D

To be forthcoming: Beginning book lines meme. watchyouwalk, you may have to remind me about this!
