Interesting reading, but yes. The more we hear about Rittenhouse, the more Flynn's action become understandable (though often not really justifiable :).
The show had me at time travel, but unlike Frequency (which I watched ad enjoyed but ultimately didn't hit my trope kinks) and the new Ripper series (didn't we have a Ripper in present time series like 2 years ago????), this one was just perfect between the pretty and the fun history facts and the myth arc balanced with episodic moments.
Lucy and Flynn definitely could/do have chemistry...but I like Wyatt a little too much (then again, can they change time again and get his wife's real killer? Is that totally out of the question? I wouldn't mind an unfridging... Then again Wyatt's kid???)
Do you have any fic recs? I haven't even gone there yet but maybe...
However, if you want to read something, you could try In The Foxhole (~21,000 words), which is labeled slash but is actually gen with rape threats as hurt/comfort trope (Wyatt is undercover in prison, pretending to be Flynn's prison bitch while trying to infiltrate a prostitution ring, because he gets roped into supporting Flynn's plot to free someone who later is supposed to kill some Rittenhouse people. I have no idea why someone would write these tropes as gen, but there you have it.). Same with Belle of the Ball (~6,400 words) - genfic with rape threats as hurt/comfort trope, this time on an island with a battalion of World War II soldiers. The team saves Flynn from the rape soldiers after Wyatt can escape their attentions. Unmade (~13,700 words) is a solid little gen team adventure and With and Without You (~1,300 words) is a first person Flynn piece that's actually about Lucy's feelings for Wyatt and works as a character study. All Tied Up and No Place to Go (~41,000 words) is the only

Watching Frequency was so strange because it should hit my trope kinks but didn't. It somehow missed all my buttons which wasn't what I expected. I only watched the Time and Again (or whatever) pilot and was so bored by the whole Ripper in modern USA idea that I didn't continue. Timeless on the other hand...*sigh* I like all the characters and I would love to read so much fanfic about them (or vids, I would love to watch vids!) but all that's out there is endless domestic Wyatt/Lucy 4eva romance stuff and the vids are all shipping manifestos with dialogue snippets from the show. ;_;
And yes, Frequency worked much less for me than it should have. I did like the female main character quite a bit, but it couldn't commit to a version of time manipulation and the romance while interesting in terms of meant to be ness seemed very deus ex machina (I mean, her fiance from the other deadline is fixing to be engaged to someone else but just meeting her makes him break that? hmpf).
I'd love a great vid. I wish I could vid :) And I don't get people's thing for domestic fic. I know YKINMK, but it just bores me. I read fic for things I don't live every day :)
Yeah, the ripper in modern time is so not interesting to me. I mean, I love a good pit of time and place story--do you remember this old 70s kid show where some medieval wizard ends up in current time? I've yet to track it down again, so I assume it was Star Maidens, a Euro effort that never made it to the US...
