Ah I must say it feels good to be in the Navy...again. Now usually I would much more enthusiastic, but seeing how I went a FULL DAY ((plus more)) without sleep, I think you can see my reasoning. I'm going to break down from start to finish my joining the Navy hour by hour. So here we go.
WEDNESDAY
10:00 A.M: Recruiter shows up to drive me to the recruiting office. I'm ready to go so we head off.
10:30 A.M: We arrive at the station and I immediately start hanging out just waiting for the shuttle to come.
12:00 Noon: My recruiter leaves with about 4 other people and goes to get the shuttle.
12:30 P.M: I go and buy myself some Wendy's as I am rather hungry and the Chief of the station suggested that I go get some food.
2:30 P.M: My recruiter returns with the shuttle so me and the other person at the station hop on in and we all get ready to ride up to Richmond. Sweet!
5:00 P.M: I, along with the other people in the shuttle ((minus the recruiter as she left after she dropped us off)), got our room keys, got them activated and then went to our rooms to chill.
6:00 P.M: Seeing as how I am hungry again I used my ticket that I recieved while signing in to go eat the the buffet. Horrible decision on my part. The buffet sucked! Greasy-ass chicken, soft-as-fuck french fries, plus really good buns and soda. Buffet decision immediately regretted.
7:30 P.M: Bored from watching T.V. I go down stairs and ask if I can go to the 7-11 across the street. Being granted permission, I head over there and pick up 2 Dr. Peppers ((the rather big $1.69 ones)), 2 things of big Smarties ((favorite candy in the world)) and 2 things of cookie dough bites. Why by two of each? Well one of each for me and one of each for the guy I am rooming with. Figured we both had a crappy dinner and I wanted to treat us for no apparent reason. He was thankful for it, a decision I would live to greatly appreciate later on.
8:00 P.M: Fall asleep, or at least I try to, after munching on the snacks I brought "home".
10:00 P.M: A full 12 hours later I'm awake and unable to get back to sleep. I turn on the T.V. to watch some Law and Order and continue to munch of my snackies.
11:00 P.M: End up watching more episodes of Law and Order and plain old T.V. in general.
12:00 Midnight: Still watching T.V.
THURSDAY
1:00 A.M: Took a shower after a Law and Order episode, starting watching Carlito's Way, and room mate decides to wake up.
2:00 A.M: Still watching Carlito's Way and room mate decides to go over to 7-11 despite the 11 o'clock cerfew set for the MEPS people. He comes back with Mountain Dew and Dr.Pepper. Good times, Great Memories.
3:00 A.M: Carlito's Way ends ((rather tragic ending, but nonetheless an awesome Al Pacino flick)) and still NOT tired.
4:00 A.M: Still awake. Bored outta my mind so I decide to read my book.
5:00 A.M: Eating breakfast by this time trying to satiate myself for the long day ahead of me.
6:00 A.M: Long day was an understatement as I am stuck waiting in the lobby of the MEPS waiting to get my self processed.
*Seeing as how I waited in this lobby for so long I am just going to show how long I had to wait just to get processed and sworn in*
7:00 A.M TO 12:00 MIDNIGHT: After a fucking 17 hour wait, 26 hours without sleep ((from 10 P.M the previous night mind you)) and and 12 or so hours without fucking eating, FINALLY am I able to get processed and sworn in. Of course the long wait was my fault in the end of things, but that's not what's important.
4:00 AM: I get home and chill a little bit seeing as of how I've been up for 30 straight hours. I get online and check shit then hit the hay for a long over due rest period.
5:00 P.M : I wake up! To my surprise I slept for over 12 fucking hours and man did it feel great. Oh yeah I started posting this blog, too. Go figure.
