Trip to Washington, day 4+

Saturday the roasters were crowing in unison. Three times as loud, but with longer pauses. I needed a shower, so I gathered my stuff and went in. When others had complained about the shower, I thought they were just experiencing what I had, but it was so much worse. Wetting down my washcloth took 15 seconds, not the whole thing, just the middle ( Read more... )

That has to be the holiday from hell. Other family members seem much better. Ooooh honey. I'd not heard that about honey, that it helped things like allergies.
May your next time be better.

Local honey is recommended rather than mass produced.

Yes, all that local pollen in the local honey. I have no idea what around here is making me sick. At first I was taking it like medicine because I didn't like the taste of honey (1 TBS honey & 1 TBS lemon juice in 2 cups hot water one a day), but now I'm drinking it all day long. It takes so much less time to make than tea does to steep. I'm addicted to the immediate gratification.

It was was go to story to keep my coworkers entertained for weeks. Some one would say "How've you been?" and someone else would pipe up, "Tell them about the chickens." And I would.

I guess it's eating small doses of the pollen that helps and unrefined honey is full of pollen. After we got back, we got some honey from the local farmer's market and that seemed to help because as soon as I ran out the chest pain came back. For the last week I've been taking honey from about ten miles away and it doesn't seem to be working as well, but I'll keep at it. I can't remember how long it took to work last time.

My boss had to explain reason for the difference to me. The bees are gathering local pollen of your potential local allergens. hmmm.

Need to research this.
