Okay, big week.
I do karate. Shorei Goju, to be quite specific, and I'm a purple belt with two stripes. I have a belt test coming up tomorrow, Wednesday, and I'm aiming for brown. This is a big test - brown belt is big thing. I have so many kata to do and so much to demonstrate.
Oh, I'm nervous.
I'm also confident. My sensei won't test you unless he knows you're ready, and I feel ready. I actually kind of like testing - lots of people come to watch their children and their children's classmates take it. I show people exactly what I can do. They'll know what I'm capable of. Brown belt is a badge of honor, and should I pass this test, I'll wear it with pride.
On Thursday, we leave for
Skepticon. It's a convention for the skeptic-minded held in Missouri. A weekend of speeches, I think, but I'm excited for that, too. And I'll be doing a lot of the driving down there.
Wish me luck, yes?
