The latest edition of "Lifestyles of the Blind and Famous"

Mar 16, 2006 21:16

As always, blind people continue to be something of interest to sighted folks. Or at least reporters at Kent State like to think so. This is now the 4th appearence I've made in the Stater but I must admit, the giant full-color photo for this story was a first in their paper, taking up a quarter of the back page. For those that can't see it, I'm walking from the Student Center in a typical college jeans, T-shirt, light jacket look, carrying my lunch in a plastic bag and a fountaion Coke. The funny part of this photo is the angle. It gives an amazing shot of the long, white NFB cane, almost giving the image I'm jumping off the page. It's a little strange but I kinda like it. Granted the story last year that ran about disabled Greek Goddesses was pretty damn cool too.

Here's to the latest segment of "Lifestyles of the Blind and Famous."

It has a nice little shout-out to the Communications department which I greatly appreciated, as well as some LCB pride. I sent Pam the link since they like to put stories on the website. I'm trying to get permission for her to use it. If anyone else has another edition to add to the collection, let me know. I'd love to compare them. Perhaps one day I will set up a website just for all the articles done about us.

I wonder if Whozit will feel threatened by this photo.

I'll post more later. I'm trying to catch up on email.
