On the far side of the sky…
There is nothing quite like a beautiful, clear night driving home with the windows down and music that compliments the mood. I mean I cannot begin to explain what a nice drive it was for the quick jaunt home. Wide open expressway with no stoplights and very little traffic. I have kind of been in one of those reflective moods all day long and so I have tended to get lost in thought a lot today. It felt so wonderful feeling the cool breeze brush against my skin. Part of me still wishes that I was still driving in my little old car and enjoying probably the best thing that Florida has to offer outside of sunny skies, and that is an absolutely gorgeous, starry night.
So there I was cruising along, trying to find something decent on the radio, and I finally hit one of the country stations. The most appropriate song was playing: “When I Get Where I’m Going” by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton. So I turned up the radio and stuck my hand out the window and let my hand ride the breeze. Honestly it was the first time in a long time that I really didn’t think about anyone or anything in particular. I just drove and did another thing I haven’t done in awhile…
