The Bike Tour That Changed Me

You probably remember the last time I rode a bike for advocacy. If you have a bike lying around, a helmet to protect yourself with, join me on the 24th for the Firefly Brigade orientation!

The Tour is drawing nearer and anybody --from kids to grandparents --can bike for clean air and health!

Do you like biking?

Have you joined or seen the Tour of the Fireflies?

Do you think bicycles can make a difference for cleaner air,
sustainable communities and a healthier lifestyle?

Do you think you can make a difference?

We are now on our way to the 9th Tour of the Fireflies, an annual
adovcacy ride promoting the bicycle for clean air and sustainable
communities, as well as for a healthier lifestyle. From less than 300
cyclists in 1999, an MMDA estimate of 5,000 cyclist joined us last year,
biking a little less than 50 kms around 7 cities and municipalities in
Metro Manila. We also continue lobby work with commercial centers, local
governments and international institutions to make Metro Manila a little
bit more bike friendly.

We need all the help we can get to make bike advocacy work a little bit
easier. We need new firefly larvaes, who can eventually become full
pledged fireflies to be part of the core group of the Firefly Brigade.
You don't necessarily need to be a regular commuter to be member. What is
important is that you believe in what the Firefly Brigade does and you
want to make a difference. For more information about the Firefly
Brigade, please visit our website at

http://www.fireflybrigade.org/

There will be an orientation for those who would like to be part of the
core group of the Firefly Brigade on February 24, 2007 (Saturday), 9:00 am
at 169 Kamias Road, Quezon City. After the orientation, should you wish
to become a larvae (applicant) core-group member of the Firefly
Brigade, a small application fee of P300 is requested for expenses to be
incurred during the application process.

Point person is Ka Brian- 09162213511

You can also send me a private email for addtional information and/or
clarifications.

Salamat po ng marami!
