My cousin Lara from New York gave me the news. There's an encompassing feeling of jubilation going on an ocean away.
I was struck by what
cannibalcake wrote at her journal, following Barack's victory: 'The best quote of the night, though, was when he turned to me and said, "This is what they must have felt like when they blew up the Death Star."'
Barack is the first African-American president of the USA. I never thought I'd see the day but I've always hoped for and wanted that day to come.
Change is what we need. And it also happens to be the only constant. This is only the beginning. But it is a beginning. And I can't wait for tomorrow.
