He hates it when they turn him down

Contemplating buying a MacBook when I get a new laptop. The old iBook has treated me well. If anyone has any opinions/suggestions i'm all ears since I've been wading through reviews and it's all just too hard.

. . .

In other news, (my first) Supanova was awesome. I got photos with James Marsters, Sean Maher, Amy Acker, Gareth David-Lloyd and Tom Felton. They were all wonderful and I think every time I walked out of the photo area I was giddy.

I went to panels as well, but didn't get autographs because I didn't have anything specific that I wanted signed. I kinda wished I did, but I don't regret it.

On the sales floor there was a lot I looked at, but I spent less than planned, coming home with some Supernatural prints, a leather satchel/bag from a local leatherworker, a small Predator statue, and what is almost a life sized Predator mask. This last thing was cheap enough that I'm planning to paint it and turn it into something closer to that which is in the movies.

Saturday night involved a James Marsters concert which was, well, interesting. He might not be the world's best songwriter or musician but he certainly left us with memorable experience. Memorable in the same way any traumatic experience can be, and I'm not sure he should be explaining the meaning behind some of his songs, though.

Fast forwarding to Sunday night, I dashed straight from work to an evening with James and Gareth David-Lloyd. It was supposed to start at 7pm but I don't think anyone got in until 8.30 and it was too much of a wait after that until the actors turned up.

Early on I was told that there would be food, which amounted to a cold prawn, a wonton that might not have been cooked properly and a slice of garlic bread that i'm not sure I should have taken. We spent most of the night watching a Justin Timberlake DVD on the pub's tv, and getting frustrated by it all, but I blame the organizers and not the actors for any bad things about the evening.

James was wonderful. We had to explain that Boxing Day is the day after Christmas and the fact that we've only recently got more than 5 channels on the tv, and he told us off for downloading tv and said that he couldn't understand why people don't come to Perth since it's just one more movie on an airplane.

In contrast, Gareth had had a few drinks by the time we saw him. There might not have been much actual conversation in the five minutes he was at our table, but I could happily listen to him drunkenly ramble for as long as he liked. I checked out his band on iTunes today and I'll probably buy their album once I've had a chance to pick up more iTunes credit.
