Once Bitten, Twice Shy

Even though nudity is an option at Starwood, I'm sure I won't choose that for the entire time. I don't really think that's the most comfortable. I like to wear cotton to absorb the sweat. I like to stay somewhat protected from the sun, too. So anyways, I decided to buy some more summer clothes, but I wanted to shop on a budget.

I heard about Sarah Jessica Parker's new fashion line and that the most expensive item of clothing in her line is less than $20. Sounds interesting. Well, I don't know if ya'll have heard of the clothing line called Bitten Sarah Jessica Parker. She has a manifesto that says "fashion is not a luxury. It is a right." Whatever. So instead of designing all her clothes for sizes 2-6, her clothes fit sizes 0-22. Sounds good so far, but I was wondering if she made the clothes for the smaller sizes and then just scaled them up for the larger sizes. That's what lots of clothing lines do and they don't really look attractive on different shapes.

Still, I wanted to look and try some on, so I looked it up and found out they're only sold at Steve & Barry's. I've shopped at Steve & Barry's before because the idea of affordable clothing is one I can get behind, but usually, the stuff they have doesn't really work for me. Partly because I don't often need more casual clothes, which is most of what they sell.

What I found out was that Steve & Barry's is much more popular now that they have the Bitten clothing line. They're capitalizing on it and the store plays videos of her explaining how much she likes the idea that Steve & Barry's sells clothes for such low prices and that inspired her. She was saying that she really wanted her clothes to look good on various women of all ages and shapes and that they don't want anyone to feel left out. It's an interesting marketing campaign.

Most of the stuff is very casual. The pants and shorts in the Bitten line don't fit me at all, but even if they did, all the shorts were white. Who wears white shorts only? That's just absurd!

The t-shirt designs were cute. Lots of peace and love and drawings of crows or peacocks. Swirly drawings & butterflies. But they were too small, even the XL, which is the size I would normally wear.

There were some cute items of clothing but they weren't my style. So all in all, the Bitten line of clothing was disappointing. However, I did find some clothes in Steve & Barry's I would be interested in. The only shorts that work were in the men's section. I might look like a lesbian in them, but I don't care. They're comfortable.

Ok, so where should I find women's shorts that aren't so short that all they do is just barely cover your ass and aren't old lady's shorts?
