so it's been a month since my last post and A LOT has happen! way more then what any monthly time frame should hold! lets see if i can remember it all!
so i injured my knee...no bueno. and i thought i was doing REALLY well taking care of it. and in all actuality i was. 'cept i showed it to Geo one day and he told me to come into the shop so he could look at it better. so when i went into the shop, he sat me down and told me that, what i thought was just an allergic reaction to the tapes adhesive, might actually be a staph infection. *sigh* so i fianlly went to the hospital. now i know, if i had just went in the first place, it might not have gotten so bad, but with no insurance and a history of hospitals treating you like shit because of it...
anyway...the took a culture of my knee and cleaned it out REAL well. i'm talking with a soft bristled sponge and everything. of course the doctor told me that i should have come in right away, that i not only needed roughly 10 outside stitches, but i should of had some on the inside as well. but he also said "but you did what you could with what you had and if it weren't for the staph infection, i say you would have healed just fine" and then muttered something about someday having decent medical for everyone. so they started me on 1200 mg A DAY (times 7 days, that's 8400mg!) of anti's and told me to call in a couple days for the results of my culture to make sure i was on the right stuff.
so i missed saturday of work :( and sunday wasn't much better! the anti's pretty much made me lethargic. and having to be up every 6 hours didn't help much. i went into work, but after an hour of spacing out, tunnel hearing (ya know, like charlie brown's teacher), and forgetting how to do my job, i went home. i went straight to bed and only woke long enough to take my pills. the rest of the work week pretty much sucked because i had no appetite, energy, or umph to do anything. but i managed :) go me!
unfortunately, that same week, justin lost his job ( don't worry folks, it ended up being a blessing in disguise!) so of course i stressed and panicked a little. but he filed for unemployment and was approved! the blessing about losing his job came when he got sick (stick with me on this one people!). it's going on two weeks now and he's still feeling under the weather. bad cough, still sleeping for most of the day, sore throat, etc. now, if he was still employed and had to take all that time off from work, we'd be REAL tight financially. so there's my silver lining on that one!
speaking of getting sick...the WHOLE house got sick sometime around the 18th. i think the boys ended up with some sort of flu and justin just had a cold that settled into his lungs. i took care of everyone while they were sick (well, mostly justin, but i did what i could for the boys) and hoped that i didn't get sick myself, especially since i had JUST gotten off anti's. well, sure enough, i came down with something. i'm thinking sympathy sickness cause it only lasted a couple days and didn't hit me near has hard as everyone else. although, by the third day, i was sent home from work because i couldn't breathe and was coughing so much.
so...here it is. one month and a TON of stuff later. i've accomplished a lot today and still have a couple things left to do, but i don't wanna! i'm really looking forward to this weekend! my roommates and justin and i are throwing a house warming party on sunday! i'm hoping to meet a ton of new people and have some old friends over as well. one friend in particular that i'm looking forward to seeing is Fluffy. i haven't seen him since April 1st and miss him dearly. he's part of why this blog has taken so long (it's been almost 40 minutes!) the two of us are texting back and forth and talking about the weekend plans! i'm also looking forward to seeing Danielle! it's been awhile since i've been able to spend some real time with her. the last couple times we've seen each other i'm either taking her home from her stay at the house or i'm out the door for work. i'm hoping that Bridgette and Josh will be able to make it as well. Bridge and i never have the same days off at work, so days like sunday are rare between us! and Josh is just awesome :)
so, i think that's enough procrastinating...i'll prolly check a couple websites first and then go finish my chores! oh yeah, and make dinner...steak and french fries...yum!
