Today was perfection!
I didn't expect today to be a good day and yet it was fantabulous! Despite having a really shitty microbiology test (I needed a 32% to get a C in the class, I think I did that.) I left campus to a very happy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUT_Zl0EpdM Flo Rida Good Feeling, on a high for some reason. I dunno if it was just that that test was done and I was going grocery shopping and had a few moments to breathe to myself. Either way, felt great, came back home and Kristie and I decided to go to this hip-hop yoga class in Boston. We got studying done on the train and then in the starbucks there for a few hours. Her friend Allen met up with us, and Chris met us at the yoga studio. Chris is a really nice amazingly friendly Tufts med student Kristie found on OKC and has been on a few dates with. Allen I just met for the first time today so I only have initial first impressions. The class was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I've never come out of yoga class with a high and this time omg SUCH A HIGH!! Endorphines out the wazoo! I also was able to do most of the class this time as I've been to a couple now so I'm building strength and stamina, which is great!! It was just a blast overall, which I was *not* expecting haha I was somewhat dreading it but knew it would be good for me. Little did I know that I would enjoy it, feel motivated by the music and like I got a great workout. We went back to Chris's I met one of his other med student roommates and saw their class composite like out vet student one only they have a normal ratio of male to female. I sometimes forget what that's like being in IB with like...3 girls to one guy and now THIS. No wonder I was so spoiled at UF and had so many guy friends there, because I get along better with guys and there were actually guys there to friend! Anyway I digress, I got to shower at Chris's and then we left to go to the T.
Now, while on the T there was a rather large man sitting across from us, with a suitcase and in full make-up. And I mean FULL make-up! Dark red lipstick, blue eyeshadow, the works. He was a blast! At first Kristie and I were talking to ourselves, me telling her I had to pee because by then I'd drank like...5 bottles of water to recover from the yoga but that shit RUNS through me, thus why I never drink anything, so even though I'd peed at the T stop I had to go again. Anyway, he started showing us and talking to this 20 year old really nice girl hanging all over her 27 year old boyfriend, both were very nice and fun to talk with as well. She was the first one that started talking with Anthony, a drag queen that performed all over for a lotttt of money! He showed us how to get make-up off with baby oil, it really did come right off! It was like watching an infomercial in real life, which I told him so. Then he proceeded to take out his heels and show us, and also his jewelry! He had REAL Swarovski crystal necklace and earrings the necklace was HUGE and he said he had a friend who works there and had it made for him for like $400 (probably worth WAY more than that if he didn't get the friend discount). He also showed us this great make up for under your eyes, a L'oreal thing. We also talked about this plastic this his lesbian friend had so you could pee like a man. Anthony was in a word, fantastic; I had such a blast. You know how nobody ever speaks on these train rides? Well you simply couldn't ignore Anthony, he wanted to be seen and heard and spoken to obviously, and he made a wonderful companion. I had to pee so bad we were counting the train stops. The commuter rail ride back was extremely surreal in many ways, totally out of the ordinary trip, which I loved. I'm on such a high from the day and ready to study my ass off for neuro tomorrow. I'm a chapter and a half away of the 11 chapters from finishing the reading and I'm going to do the rest of the ppts and...I'll think about that tomorrow, don't want to mar this evening. I thrive with people and big cities and tonight was just a re-affirmation of all I hold dear and love to do and just had such a blast I was not expecting it. When you stop looking for something it comes and finds you. Ahhh life, some days you get urinary pathophysiology finals and other days you get hip-hop yoga and drag queens! :D
