Yes, both my husband and I were sub contractors, working with a producer for cartoons made for CTW(Children's Television Workshop) working on these for a few years. It was amazing. My husband actually did a soundtrack with his banjo for one of the animations that appeared in the Whitney Museum in NYC.
One animation I worked on extensively was at the International Film Festival in Paris. My producer even put my name in because I had done most of the work on that certain animation.
