In some order, but not really... 2008 in Review:
I'm sure i missed some things but i feel like i didn't do much after March...
This year was full pretty much of really high highs or really low lows; I never realized it before i guess.
1) Traveled out of the United States for the first time (not counting the one time I went to Boblo Island Ontario, or the drunken trips to Windsor Ontario)
2) Went the longest I’ve ever gone not seeing my parents/home/Royal Oak.
3) Traveled through Ireland, Scotland and Italy.
4) Fell in love with Ireland. Made vow to live there one day.
5) Saw Loch Ness. Looked for Nessie with negative results
6) Saw and explored my first castle!!!! Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness
7) Went to the Vatican. Rubbed the foot of St. Peter (The G-rents would be SOOO proud.. lol). had my crucifix blessed by a Vatican priest and two Vatican nuns, Touched St. Anne’s Gate.
8) Hostel-ed?? for the first time(6 different hostels). 2 hostels in Dublin, Ireland all by myself and I wasn’t ravaged, raped or murdered.
9) Missed my plane back to the US, cause I’m stupid and nothing ever goes right.
10) Spent the night in an airport for the first time. SOO cold.
11) Started volunteering for The Greening of Detroit, Habitat for Humanity and my College’s Environmental gigs
12) Got Shingles. Can now say with no pun intended that I’ve had to take Valtrax!! *insert fake smile here*
Being required to call the Center for Disease Control and tell 100+ people at my work my nasty business, Pain induced delirium, missing a week of classes and losing 250+ dollars in pay is sooo awesome. I even got a cool new scar!!!
Yah. Only a little bitter.
13) Met Noor!! Who always has the coolest unique perspective on everything, and is open for anything.
14) Went a whole year (plus some) without kissing anything other than people who have the XX chromosome…..sigh. It’s not really all that hot or life changing considering i’m straight and all.
15) Met Ben. My A+ shopping critic, Anita’s restaurant buddy and tell it like it is gay BFF.
16) PASSED CHEMISTRY!!! Now I will be getting a degree with the word SCIENCE in it!!! I NEVER though I could do that….
17) Started a recycling program in Records at the PD, and started a water bottle recycling thing at Platos.
18) Hung out with Jill and met baby Roisen when they were up visiting. My first high school friend to get married and have a baby!!
19) Went on a real train(not the zoo or Henry Ford train) for the first time, from Royal Oak to Chicago and then 2 weeks later Chicago to Detroit for spring break.
20) Watched Charlie’s house burn down.
21) Went to the hospital with my dad for a test, and found out with him that he had cancer again.
22) Got my nose job!!! SO worth it.
23) Got the vindication and apology I’ve been waiting for; for FOUR years. Ha!
24) Voted for Barack Obama, Stem cell research, and Medical Marijuana and felt for the first time that my vote didn’t fall on deaf ears.
25) Got invited to go skinny dipping with someone I really like, and I turned him down, but not for the reason he thought. Boy, do I wish I could go back in time and hit myself over the head with a board sometimes..
26) Saw Kris Draper and Aaron Downey from the Detroit Red Wings at Starbucks!
27) Raised the GPA :)
28) Got the sinus infection from HELL. A week before finals!! Mid- January and it still isn’t gone yet!
29) Learned how to play Phase 10
30) Got lost. In Scotland. At night.
31) Expanded my thift store cred. Ohhh yeah, this is a good one.
32) Spent a few days at Silver Lake, reading, swimming and being lazy. Also went kayaking for the first time.
33) Spent a weekend in Rose City, on 200 acres of land in a huge cabin with a bunch of dudes who shave off 90% of their body hair on a regular basis.(Professional cyclists… lol)
34) Went to my first Ugly Sweater Party!
35) Saw the Dropkick Murphy’s live with Colleen. Drank my first green beer, danced on stage with the band and touched the hand of Scruffy Wallace when he called me over and gave me his set list!
36) Spent a weekend at Walden Woods, went kayaking for the second time and hiked on a suuper sweet trail.
37) Partied and drank Guinness with a bunch of cops on St. Patrick's Day. Sweet time.
38) Went to the Detroit Science center for the first time, with Noor and Ben and took them to my favorite restaurant in Detroit!
39) Went to New York City with my mom to visit my sister. Visited the MoMA!! Went to Williamsburg Brooklyn and fell in love with that place too. Went on the NY Subway for the first time, and almost slipped on puke running in to the subway car. Watched the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks in person from a Williamsburg Park.
38) And because I’m a cheap fashion obsessed weirdo, my best finds of the year.
1)A pair of $300.00 Frye boots at my work for 17 dollars,
2)$400.00-$500.00 Diane VonFurstenburg party dress for $12.00

3) A $300.00 Armani Exchange Hound’s-tooth coat for $25.00
4) $50.00 Andy Warhol art bag by loop for $4.00(I have 4 different ones!!)
