HI to all! : D

I'm so sorry I've not kept up with everyone. I know it seems that I haven't been around much, and... : ( ... I haven't. My life seems to have gotten so busy since I graduated. I sometimes sit and wonder how in the world I was able to keep up with everything and go to school at the same time. I swear I don't think I could ever do it ( Read more... )

Awwwwww, a post from you and such a lovely manip!!!! Thank you!!

I'm sorry that you were so disappointed about the state of the fandom when you came back. But it is to be expected, isn't it? After all, a lot of people have RL that change and demand more time and so fandom suffers, especially if it isn't as shiny and exciting to someone as it used to be.

But there are still enough people who love the hobbits and who post excellent fics! You will have to go to people's LJ instead, rather than go to WOTM.

Still, it's great to hear from you again. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! *hugs*

Hi Sweetstuff : )

Awww, thank you! I'm so glad you like it.

The dwindling fandom knocked me for a loop most definitely. Yeah, I know it's to be expected, and that things change, and people change, and this, that, and all the other, but gosh, it's such a bummer, isn't it? I just wasn't expecting it, though I really should have since I, myself, am just as much to blame for the dwindling. *that just about kills me to admit that* : (

But there are still enough people who love the hobbits and who post excellent fics!Well, I'm glad you said that! But where/who are they? There are quite a few that I used to read -- regularly, I guess you could say-- but I've not seen anything new from those writers in some time. And even some of those writers, that I have so thoroughly enjoyed in the past, have switched to different fandoms. : ( *bigger pout* I am, of course, always eager to read from any, and all, who write F/S fics, I don't care who they are ( ... )

Oh, I forgot to mention that due to the LJ 'scandals' a lot of people have been feeling unsafe or unwanted here and that makes it all a lot more quiet around here, too.

I, myself, am just as much to blame for the dwindling. *that just about kills me to admit that* : (
Well, if you don't have the time, you don't have the time. But there is nothing stopping you from coming back when you have a few hours again and we'll be welcoming you with open arms! :)

You should check the Waymeet challenges and see who posts F/S and then go to their LJs for more. I've had a look at your profile and I think you should friend Lbilover's other LJ, Patchworkfamily and then maybe these people: Elderberrywine, Aussiepeach, Angharad001, Igraine1419, and errrm, go the the fic overview of this year's Frodo/Sam advent calendar in my LJ - there are so many more writers in there and most of them are still active. :D And you can check out the Hobbit Month posts, most of the people there are F/S fans, too.

*huggles* I hope you will get over your shock and enjoy fandom again!! :)

I just spotted your comments here. I would agree, definitely, that the unfortunate decline in numbers here is *not* just down to the sad but inevitable waning of interest on the part of many fandom members. There's more to it than that.

But I just wondered exactly what you were referring to when you said:

I forgot to mention that due to the LJ 'scandals' a lot of people have been feeling unsafe or unwanted here and that makes it all a lot more quiet around here, too.

What scandals, exactly?

I meant the LJ deletions, the flagging system and all that.
