OOC: Since this needed to be adressed
I know Ashleigh stated a bunch of stuff but I thought I'd re-post/post some ground rules since it appears we need them:
#1) From now on new members will be given a trial period of 1 month to make sure they'll fit into the community well and to make sure they can get a hold of their character.
#2) Though we do enjoy the cassieclaire journals, this community role playing is not based solely upon them. We use them as a rough template and take many liberties. Sometimes the storyling is slightly altered but bear in mind, as Ashleigh stated, that there will always be someone who will ground us. Though small events change, they will probably be done by another character and the final outcome will be the same.
ex. If Pippin is with Saruman instead of in Balin's tomb, the bucket will still get knocked over, the cave troll will still come, Bob the Balrog will still "kill" Gandalf etc.
#3) You cannot take this too seriously. If you can't deal with hobbits dating or people getting it on with flaming eyeballs, this is not the place for you. Weird things happen here. Perverted things happen here. If you don't like it, don't join. Simple.
#4) If you are having a problem with someone, e-mail me to get their e-mail if you don't have it so you can solve it outside the community. If that doesn't work please come to myself, ashleigh or carly and discuss the problems. Please don't just quit because it just ends up fucking everything up. Not everyone can agree all the time, I know, but we can solve these glitched and make this community work.
#5) Try to stay true to your character. Even though we take many liberties, we still try to keep the characters as constant as possible. To help ensure this I ask that everyone write a little synopsis of their character. This would include: Name, Location of Birth/Species, Interests, History, Relationships with other main characters. This will hopefully help us to stay on track and get a better idea of who everyone is and what they're doing. Please e-mail this to me and I'll make up a webpage so we can all reference it. Granted, relationships may change during the game and if this happens, all you need to do is just e-mail me and we'll discuss it.
#6) THIS IS JUST A GAME!!! We should be having fun. If something is wrong talk to Ashleigh (still_not_king), Carly (SamwiseGamgee) or myself (frodo_baggins). We will do whatever we can to make everyonehappy. Communication is essential here.
*side note* A lot of us are new to RPing so you have to be patient. We're just trying to have a good time and in my opinion, this place has been going really well. I'm sad to see people fighting in here because we all have the possibility of having a great time.
I'm sorry to see it come to this. I wish you would reconsider leaving but if you do not feel like staying, we cannot force you. It was nice having you both here, and I'm sad to see you go.
