The Salamander Who Was Terrified Of The Water

Ross Howell, aged 7

One sunny day near a swamp there was a funny Salamander who wouldn't go into the water because he was too scared. Night fell and he thought about going in the water. In the morning he saw his friend.

"What are you doing here so early?" said the Salamander.

"Why are you out of the water?" said his friend. "Your skin will dry out."

Just then, his skin did start to dry up. His friend said, "Hop in the water."

"Okay," he said and jumped into water. "I'll never be scared of water again, okay, friend."

So that proves that a Salamander's real home is in the water. Sometimes they can come out but have to return to the water.
