I got my MRI results today and I'm happy to report that I do not need surgery.
All together now! HOORAY!
Okay. While I was there, my doctor said to me, "If I remember correctly, your shoulder slips in and out of the socket." I said, "Yep" and moved my arm so my shoulder SLIPPED out and back into the socket to demonstrate. Now this is my favorite part of the story--My Doctor said, "Stop doing that! You're freaking me out."
I'm what, now? Freaking you out? I looked at the door to make sure that I was, in fact, in my doctor's office and not in a Pizzeria--because I can totally understand my pizza guy saying, "That's gross. You're freaking me out." But I can't understand my ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON saying it. You know. Seeing as how he's an ORTHOPEDIST and everything.
Anyway, I didn't let this get me down at all because I do not need surgery! And now I know I have a way to freak people out. All I need do is pop my shoulder out of its socket! I'm not sure what's so freaky about torn ligaments, or labral tears (this is part of the shoulder--get your mind out of the gutter). I can tell you it hurts like hell. But apparently some PT (lots and lots of PT) and my arm will be...well, not good-as-new, but WAY better. That's for sure!
So, PT tomorrow. Check!
I just figured I'd share some happy news for once. Although now that I read it through, torn ligaments, massive pain and intensive PT don't really sound like great news, do they?
........?
Screw it! I'm going with HAPPY NEWS. No surgery = HAPPY. YAY!
Have a great day!
