It has been a cold old week, and I confess I have been feeling it. Hardier types from more extreme climes will mock, but it truly has been rather chilly. (4 degrees C this morning, and marginally cooler yesterday, though it climbs to 16/17 degrees during the day.)
However, today I think I stumbled on a simple solution to beat the chill.
It is this. Have a glass of red wine at lunchtime. I met a friend I hadn't seen in an age, intending to have a coffee; but I was persuaded into some merlot.
vissy was amused at my reddish hue on my return, but with the wine (and a small cup of chicken and sweet corn soup), my toes stayed warm and toasty for hours and hours! Mmmmm.
