IT's only tuesday
A few more days and then it's a three day work week followed by another three day work week.
On another thought: Open communication is so easy. At least, I think it is. Turns out that it's not so easy for many folk. Thanks to a wonderful trustworthy grapevine network, I found out something about my dinner date tonight with somebody whom I thought was a cool cool chick. But, there's a way to deal with finding out I've been seriously let down and set up before I get screwed: The Bush Doctrine! Only in this case, it will be a proper preemptive strike made with RELIABLE covert intelligence.
Thanks to my friends that actually give a shit enough about my feeling to covertly fill me in on what was going on before I found out the "surprise". And thanks to another friend for helping me out and salvaging this Tuesday night so as to ensure that I will have fun.
I do believe some friendships are going to end today... a nice slow long death of saying, "so long, and thanks for all the peanuts."
As for tonight's dinner date, here's the long story short: I'm bringing one of the Hottest friends I have (who also happens to be extremely cool) with me on a date with another girl tonight.
This is what my uber cool and hot friend had to say, "So... let me get this straight. It's gonna be you and her... and me to break the awkwardness. Is this right? Because, if it is, then I'm in! Sounds like fun!"
Needless to say, her dinner will be on me.
And no... there's no stupid game here. It's a ridiculously stupid game. As another friend put it, all I ask for is equal time and courtesy. I could just bail tonight, but that would be the same as deserting the army just before a major battle for whatever reason made you succumb to the Fear. I'm not like that. But I'm also not going into battle without proper armament. In this case, the armament is equal time and courtesy.
And to know that I'm going through this because of another "friend", a person I've known for years, is seriously disappointing. Yep, I will be facing this situation head on; and I will still have fun tonight.
