Voyage of the Damned

I just watched the Doctor Who Christmas special, Voyage of the Damned.

It's very "Starship Titanic" in my mind. A good tribute to Douglas Adams. Also, it actually planted four good characters in situations where they could and should be used again. The young starship crewman, the accidental millionaire professor of Earthonomics in London, the incredibly wealthy investment alien guy, and the atomized body and soul of Astrid Perth. I'm sure that at least one of those four characters could make an appearance in the next series. At least the Earthonomics professor, because I liked him. Though, what language does he speak? I wonder.

Lots of death in this episode. Jeez, at the death! I liked the robot angels. The fact that they broke away from the robot santas was great, and these killer robot angels were good. I like their crazy spinney halo. Scary. The fact that they fly too was even scarier.

Overall, I liked it a lot. Especially the extra quiet London, because of the constant alien attacks. To tie in history like that was just wonderful.
