Plastic Fantastic
As usually happens, I start watching Project Runway, get back to reading Fabulon and inspiration strikes. Yes, I started sketching again. The House of Fae has returned, and it's coming back in full force. I did 5 sketches this evening based off of something I saw in this insane asylum runway show by Alexander McQueen.
I saw the video on Fabulon.
The dress that stuck with me was the one at the 1:02 mark. It was shiny red plastic, form fitting down to the skirt and then busting out in gorgeous red feathers.
So, my idea was to take this plastic concept and move it into a whole plastic-wear look. Using shower curtain thickness vinyl on a sheer body suit form I will create a series of looks that will be chic and hip and totally insane at the same time. I'm thinking that this will become a pride theme, something along the lines of "Plastic Fantastic."
I'll scan the images tomorrow evening and post them for you all to look over.
