So tonight the faeries donned their gay apparel and went forth to Lambda Rising and proclaimed ourselves queens of the wild frontier. Actually we just went forth to proclaim that we published our issue of RFD and it was fun. There wasn't a very large turnout, but those who came enjoyed it.
Overall it was a low-key event. Which is unusual for faeries, but even for us low-key involves leopard print gloves and pink feather boas.
We had a good time of it nevertheless.
There are some GREAT pictures. I'm going to post a couple once I can get them up. No tattoo photos yet, but hopefully there will be some soon.
Afterwards folks wound their way down to the faerie flophouse and we ordered in Greek. It was good times. Conversations wound around a number of different topics, but the main focus of my energies went to researching grants to glbt organizations and finding out what we could do to get money to support any number of bizarre and unusual ideas we have. I found several that look promising, and I'm going to try and come up with some proposal ideas to see if we could make them happen. Hopefully we can do something amazing in the near future. If so, I'll definitely keep you all in the loop.
In other news:
Tattoo: My back is healing miraculously well. Though I have some areas that are breaking out a little bit (oils and such built up), but overall, not much scarring and most all the skin has healed over.
Job: We may open the library as early as tomorrow. I'm going to put on my best outfit just to be ready. I'm going to work Sunday as well just because we don't have people on a rotation yet (and it's an extra chunk of cash I can use for Seattle).
Books: I just finished reading "Darkly Dreaming Dexter." And when I say reading, I mean listening to the audio book. I started eyeball-reading "Special Topics in Calamity Physics" and I'm going to download "Dearly Devoted Dexter." Hopefully I'll have a review up of the first Dexter book tomorrow.
Trips: I'm going to be in Seattle Nov. 8-14, so be prepared for Seattle updates!
dmlaenker and I need to plan out our itinerary, but we'll make sure and let everyone know where we're at and when. We're also going to be in New York City for the New York Anime Festival Dec. 7-9. If you're going to be there for that, or you're going to be in NYC for any other reason let us know so we can meet up.
