Just a note, I've currently turned back on the custom comment pages in my journal - ie they are no longer on the beautiful new default style, because it's giving me a massive headache. This is so that I can use my own style for now on the comms I read, and therefore actually be able to read them

I can read things fine, so no problems for me! I stopped using default a while back because I liked the orange of the style I use atm and quite like the elephant (though I do wish it was a cheetah)!! I suspect a lot of people will be using custom styles all of a sudden.

I just can't quite believe they decided to do something like this - they had thousands of comments of feedback against the announced changes before they rolled them out, and there are already 5000 comments on the release post... and they just aren't listening to any of their users. From a customer service point of view alone, that's horrific.

I use a custom style so I haven't seen the new comments form yet. I suspect this is another clash between the needs and demands of the Russian blogosphere and everywhere else.

Nope, the Russians hate it too. Apparently everyone hates it except for the designer, who got rid of all the features he personally doesn't want to use.
