What a great story! I loved the line "everything about him was a picture to inspire sympathy". How often could that line be used to describe Neal. So many great scenes--Peter trying to con the nurse into letting him stay, everyone protectively surrounding Neal in the car as they took him home, and of course, Peter with his arm around Neal as he fell asleep. My kind of story.
