This was made a couple of weeks ago for sgmen_itest . I'd been meaning to get around to one like this for ages, and then this Sheppard picture was one of the set ones, and I couldn't resist making it. And it won mod's choice! :-)
This one's by redscharlach and is Nick and Margaret from The Apprentice. It's the only reality-TV-style show I watch, and I love Nick and Margaret and their reactions to the candidates' stupidity. Sadly I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, nor do I know if it'll actually be 'got' by my LJ friends not from the UK...
This was one of the earlier Atlantis icons I made, and I still can't decide whether I like it or not - I think I may have overkilled it with effects. I played with light and contrast on a picture of Atlantis to get it to a reasonable silhouette, flipped it to make a reflection, and stuck it over a photo of the moon over the sea. Then I put an old paper texture over the top of it and fiddled with the colour. Then I put a faint star texture over that, and then stuck a border on. As I said, possible overkill.
This is currently my favourite icon (which is why it's on default). The clip's from 'Echos', and I just made it all black-and-white except for Rodney's jacket panels, which I then increased the colour of a bit to make more contrasting. I wanted an all-purpose Rodney (I could possibly word that better), and it seems to work well for that.
'How ood' is a part of my vocab because of Doctor Who. Basic ood promo picture, cut out the background (and painted in the top of his head, which was cut out of shot of the original), made a gradient background, and found a font I liked. I've used this icon mostly on fanficrants , I think...
