Tomorrow, the bulk of offers go out. With it comes the rejection letters too for the applicants who don't make it.
This is my standard-ish letter to the applicants who email me asking why they didn't get in and trying to plead their case:
Thank you for your email.
The academic requirement for guaranteed entry into Law as an international student is 98. Your ENTER of XX is below the LLB academic requirement. Although we are sympathetic to your situation, there is no basis for an appeal.
If you have any further queries regarding the LLB, please email me again.
Does it sound harsh? I don't think there's any other way to put it gently without giving them false hopes of getting in.
(An ENTER score of 98 means that you rank the top 2% of the whole of Victoria. This is set and published waaaaay ahead of time so students are aware of what they need to acheive. I.e regardless of how many places we have available, if you meet the score, we can't turn you away)
