Day 3
We just bludged (lepaked) at home for half a day and then went fishing in the afternoon.
We went to lake Bellfield the local water catchment in the area
But because of the drought in Victoria, it's down to about 50% (I'm just making this figure up. But it looks that way... =)
See where the water is meant to come up to and how far the shoreline has receded
As soon as we got there and got all our gear out of the cars, the communial bug spraying began (Thanks to Simon!!)
My fishing rod bearer
We are Fishermen!
Sadly, we didn't catch any fish. Apparently, we weren't well equipped with the right gear for the type if fish in this lake. We did get a lot of seaweed and lost 2 or 3 fishing tackles though.
Later that night, we had dinner and bummed a bit more. Then realised it was 10 minutes before New Years. We popped a few poppers and smsed everyone we knew. [Emily, my best friend, smsed me from Denmark 10 hours before her New Years!!!!!]
Then we went outside to play with sparklers!! Look how happy Elina is!! =)
Then Simon and Adam started to torment the bugs near the light all the while, laughing maniacally. (Until one brave bomber flew right at their faces to try and save bugkind!!)
And then Simon lit the MOTHER OF ALL SPARKLERS!!
All burnt out - Look how many there were in the bunch!!!
Then we had a massive drinking party!! Cheers!!
We had a stash of alcohol to go through collected from previous drinking parties (since 2003?)
Funny what alcohol makes you do. Some turn pilosophizing and theologizing...
Others, well........
I've been sworn to secrecy what happened the rest of the night.
Day 4
Was all about sleeping in, packing up, washing up.
Phil, Adam and I went into town to throw the garbage and there were deers walking about town!!
I had to take a photo because we were talking the other day about how Simon has a friend from Canada who had Elks walking about the town.
Then we drove home. Stopping by Ballarat for Pancakes
(Simon had the worst hangover due to mixing his drinks with all sorts of potent ingredients)
Was quite dissapointed in the food though. Elina got a $3 discount because her chicken was undercook (which I thought was a joke!)
Then we got caught in a flash flood (I kid you not!!)
Then we drove back to Simon's place where we tar pau'd (take away) leftover food from the weekend.
And that was my weekend!
