The icon doesn't really fit this post, but I'm considering it as a little birthday present to myself :-)
Thanks for the birthday wishes yesterday. It ended up being a pretty quiet day, since my sweetie had to work late. We finally got around the watching last week's episodes of Lost & Eli Stone - Ben is uber freaky! The Eli Stone episode was the strongest one since the pilot episode. Most of the other ones have been so so. We managed to totally forget that Jericho was on, so we'll have to catch the repeat on Saturday. We caught the Atlantis finale on Monday & New Amsterdam (the 2nd & 3rd episodes have been stronger than the pilot episode).
I managed to leave work a bit early yesterday (I have a partial day of TO left) for a bit of shopping downtown on the way home. I didn't pick up very much, just a top at Laura ($14, originally $70) and a really cute pair of ankle boots - like I needed another pair ($40, originally $120)

zandoria they still have those embroidered Mary Jane style ones I showed you and they're discounted even further from when I bought mine. There is a whole wall of shoes & boots that are now half the lowest marked price.
I very nearly didn't make it past my birthday, as a couple of cars tried to flatten me at the Henderson crosswalk. Luckily I always double check to make sure the cars are stopping before crossing and I'm pretty fast on my feet when properly motivated. I pushed the button, saw the van in the median lane was stopping, noted that the cars in the next 2 lanes were way back and should have plenty of time to stop. Unfortunately, the van blocked my view of the next two lanes until I was clear of it and by then the cars in the next two lanes (which apparently didn't notice either the flashing lights or the stopped van) were pretty much right on top of me at full speed so that I had to dodge to get out of the way. They didn't even try slamming on the breaks. I'm still surprised they didn't see me - I'm not exactly tiny, plus I was carrying some pretty large bags.
Now it's back to cranking out Easter goodies at work...
