so sore
Hopefully I'll get used to 12-hour shifts pretty soon, lol, especially back-to-back ones. Thursday was a bit frustrating, I just felt like I was a step behind all day. *shrug* It's something that just has to work itself out. Yesterday was really, really quiet, which is a rariety anywhere in the hospital. There were over twenty beds empty on my floor when I left last night, no one can figure out why. We weren't even getting any admits in! I swear to you, that never happens, lol, not even on holidays.
Vanessa, the PCA who's orienting me to the floor, left early to go to the ER because she has an apparent kidney infection coming back, so I was on my own with four patients for the last few hours. It was fun, no problems at all, and I had already gotten to handle most of the day by myself since she was in so much pain. Two of the patients received blood, so there was all the work with that, which I was geeked about. I'm a nerd, but it's all good, I love the work. :)
Going to the movies this afternoon with a couple of people from class, and then maybe out to my brother's for dinner tonight. I hope everyone has a good weekend. :)
