The thesis completed!
Hurrah! Today I handed in the final version of my thesis, at last! The defense will be in two weeks, but since it can only affect my mark positively, the really worrisome bit is all over. I have decided to ignore my profs' cautions about being nice to dead white men (Glenn Gould, of course, is a cut above the average DWM, but nonetheless) and accounting for cultural context. My convictions were reinforced by a CBC program I listened to on the weekend, and I decided to buck the academic trend of being warm and fuzzy with GG, as I had originally intended to do. It should be interesting at the defense, because after two profs told me to back off I in fact strengthened my language! I look forward to debate! Actually I fear it, but close enough!
So now that that's done, I'm sitting here serenading the cat with Ella love ballads and writing incoherent LJ entries when I should be writing a 15-source annotated bibliography which is due in paleopathology tomorrow evening and for which I only have 12 sources collected unless I include 3 repetetive and not exactly relevant papers. Such is life!
