Ding! (skip to the asterisks if you don’t care about OK Go)
Actually, I should mention round one-and-a-half. Right when Kim and I were talking about the concert at Canter's (a great bakery/deli/restaurant in LA), Tim and Damian walked in and sat down for lunch. Giddiness ensued, of course, and we just couldn't help ourselves: we bought them cupcakes and had the hostess deliver them for us. It was a fun moment of utter fan-ness (I guess fanaticism would be the noun, but that sounds creepy).
So, even though I knew it was silly to drive all the way out to West Hollywood to see a concert I'd already seen, I did it. And ooooh was night two worth it.
Of note:
-The show had a similar set list except for instead of "Pretty in Pink," they covered "Hold the Line." Even though I saw it in London, the band didn't mean anything to me then. This time, I was drooling. Move over Chris Isaak (who won the title of best thing I'd ever seen on stage when he came out in a disco ball suit last summer). Thank you Toto for the song and Damian's girlfriend for requesting it (damn! He’s straight!). That number alone was worth the entire $12 ticket.
-Also, when Damian broke a string, we were rewarded with "Confrontation" from Les Mis. Tim was wearing a sombrero of all things during it which inspired: "Apparently, Les Mis takes place in BAJA." Aaah, Damian.
-Speaking of breaking a string, Andy continues to hold my high respect for finishing one of the songs with only four strings. And he was amazing again as the finishing flourish to the Chic-a-go-go dance.
-Damian teaching a couple on-stage how to dance: "It's all about... hips ::swings hips:: and p-r-r-oximity ::thrusts into mic stand::." Oh to be that stand...
After the show, it was nice that they all noticed that I had been there last night. I hope they never get bigger than this--being recognized is a swell feeling. Is it 2005 yet? I need their new CD.
I wish I could be friends with OK Go. But for now, being a crazy fan is enough, I suppose.

I need to:
a) eat crepes tomorrow morning with Jimmy instead of the horrible thing they call “brunch” at Parkside.
b) start my Trainspotting research paper and finish my Hollywood bohemianism one by Wednesday.
c) find out what I’m allergic to so I can stop scratching these rashes with all the itching fervor I can muster.
The final two weeks of the semester approach. I cower.
Goodnight,
