My giant, fantastic, multi-cutted Tangled post. Spoilers are everywhere, be careful.
So first, because I really, really want to:
Flynn discussion.
Flllyyynn. I STILL HAVEN'T DECIDED IF YOU HAVE BEATEN NAVEEN. IF NOT. SO CLOSE.
See, Naveen is all charming, confident, and hot. Flynn? Ditto. EXPECT HE ACTUALLY DOESN'T THINK MUCH OF HIMSELF AND SEEMS TO HAVE PEOPLE ISSUES AND SOOBBB, FLYYYNNN. I really love that our main two both had... well, issues, tbh, and together they fix eachother. <3
Anyways, yes, Flynn obviously was not a fan of "Eugene" and wanted to reinvent himself as someone that everyone would love... and yet, "I've Got A Dream" shows he's rather... antisocial. I mean, listen:
"They mainly happen somewhere
warm and sunny
On an island that I own
Tanned and rested and alone
Surrounded by enormous piles of money "
...All alone? Not with people (and ladies) who love him? It brings this deepness (anti-social, whoo!) to Flynn that I love. ANYWAYS LET US DISCUSS HOW FLYNN IS ALL DEEP AND AMAZING, YES?
Why Rapunzel is my blonde twin:
OKAY, THIS ONE. YOU GUYS WILL THINK I'M CRAZY, BUT WE BOTH:
Are slightly crazy
Love to draw
Love to read
Are hyper
Have freckles
Have green eyes
Have an overbite
Are born in the summer
Are natural brunettes
Are easily bored
Are clumsy
Are ditsy
SERIOUSLY. Though uh, she can sing/dance and is more Disney princessy then me, BUT STILL.
How I first started stalking this movie, five years ago:
So. Five years. Yeah, that's a third of my life. Jeez. So basically, I was sitting in 4th grade, flipping through Time for Kids, looking at the pictures instead of reading the articles. And I came across one about upcoming Disney films! GASP.
There was a bit on American Dog (yeah, back when it was still Chris Sanders baby) which uh, bored me haha. BUT. THERE WAS SOMETHING ABOUT SOME SORT OF... FILM ABOUT HAIR? It featured the classic picture of her all sassy in pink, and I was amazed by it. Ironic seeing as uh, I hate that picture now. Psssh.
So I was, of course, super interested and so began my following the project. I squee'd with every new picture released, watched it become Rapunzel to Rapunzel Unbraided to Rapunzel to Tangled... basically watched my little baby movie grow. /tear
The actual viewing of the film:
How much do I love this film? So. Much. Seriously. The songs, the characters, (OMG) the animation (goooregeous)
...Everything is pretty much perfect, besides some intensely tiny nitpicks (would like more done with Mother Gothel, but meh, what can you do)
So we were originally going to see the film the first Sunday, but... I could tell I wouldn't be able to handle waiting that long. So I asked if we (my mom and I) could go on Thanksgiving morning, and she said yes. BUT. On Wednesday, my mom was like 'SO WANNA GO TONIGHT" and I was like ".....YES."
So we get there, wait outside in line... annnnd the people behind us (father, mother, 20 year old daughter?) started talking. Loudly.
Father: LOL THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE SHREK.... ADULT HUMOR, SO LIKE, THE KIDS AND ADULTS LAUGH.. AHHAHA
Me: /eyeball twitch. NO, actually.
Family: .... /stare
Me: It's not going to be like Shrek. It's more like a classic Disney film. Like Sleeping Beauty. Or Princess and the frog.
Father: ...oh.
Me: But it's still going to be funny. /turns away
YEAH, NOTE FOR THE FUTURE: Don't compare Tangled to Shrek in front of me. It won't end well. I think they were scared I was going to start a fist fight, ahha
BUT INFRONT OF US: There was London (Sixish) and her dad, who asked us to hold their place in line while they got hot dogs. We agreed.
They got back and we ended up talking about the film (London was totes obsessed, had all the books, seen the trailers fifty times, knew all the characters, etc. )
I think her dad was a little weirded up by the fifteen year old crazy fangirl at first, but then he realized... hey, she's fifteen and watching Disney films instead of mooning over boys. I WANT MY DAUGHTER TO BE LIKE THAT kind of thing, haha
So we got in after being in like for like, fifteen minutes and sat down. I was shaking with excitement huurrr. Then we hear
"You wanna sit with them?" And London and her dad come walking up to us and ask "Do you mind if we sit next to you?"
And we're like SUUUURE WHY NOT. So we watched the previews, talked a lot more (mom showed her Disney Princesses from Disneyland and she indentified them all) And basically just... small chatted. London was adorable and her dad was really nice.
AND THEN
IT BEGAAAAAAAN
and I was worried I was about to burst into tears when the logo showed up, orz. I was just... amazed I was finally seeing it. Siigh~ Anyways, as I said, amazing, beautiful, flawless, etc.
I lol'd so many times, gasped (at the scene where Flynn and Rapunzel dive under water, it was beaaautiful, the glowy light.. fw0erh0wjedqwj, I poked my mom and whispered "THAT LOOKS SO GORGEOUS" and she nodded.)) and uh... cried manly tears at Flynn's death. I AM MANLY, OKAY.
(And I so teared up at the king's single tear. ...even if it did remind me of
this. )
So yes it was amazzzziiing and I'm trying to be spoiler... not free but, spoiler light for all of y'all who think you can just read spoiler posts. UH HUUUH. I SEE YOU THERE.
Anyways, after the film London gave me and my mom a hug and it was alllll goood.
SO YES, PLEASE DISCUSS THIS LOVELY MOVIE WITH ME. <3
