I'll admit I don't know all that much about this Christmas celebration that just passed us by, but it seems to be a lot like Hearth's Warming Eve, so I hope everyone enjoyed it.

And thank you for the gifts, everypony. I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to return the favor yet, but I promise I'll find you all something.

Have you spoken to a Move Tutor? Your Abra might be able to learn a direct attack, and it'd be less expensive than TMs.

Now that's an interesting idea. Is there a Tutor near Goldenrod?

There might be. They usually travel between cities, though the one that teaches only Headbutt seems to favor Ilex Forest.

Headbutt isn't the best move for an Abra, but it's better than nothing by a long shot. Thank you for the advice, sir.

You're welcome. I've no doubt your Abra will soon become an excellent battler.

That's my hope! I plan for Starswirl to be one of my top choices for a lead-in fighter.

You'll find a strong Psychic-type to be useful in most situations, other than the Azalea and Ecruteak Gyms. They can also be extremely helpful outside of battle.

Yes, he's already demonstrated that. A friend of mine hurt herself recently and Starswirl's Teleport ability was very helpful in getting her somewhere where she could rest it off.

[And because her curiosity knows no bounds...] Do you have a Psychic-type in your party, sir?

And that's only the start of their abilities. Telepathy also has its uses.

[He smiles.]

I do. Two Gardevoirs, and one Lunatone. They are the most plentiful type I have other than Flying, in fact.

Wow, it sounds like you have quite a few. Then you've been here a while?

I have twenty-two Pokémon, after a year and almost four months spent here. It's been some time indeed.

Twenty two... That's very impressive, sir. But I'm sorry you've had to be away from your home for so long.

You become used to it, after some time, even if it is not easy to accept.

I... find that difficult to believe, but I suppose you'd know better than I would.

...When it comes down to accepting or falling prey to despair, you have very little choice.

[She winces.]

When you put it like that, I... see your point.
