Arrogance on the part of the meritorious
is even more offensive to us than the
arrogance of those without merit:
for merit itself is offensive.
Human, All Too Human, aph. 332 (1878)
Speaking of philsophy, and arrogant dicks, I really can't stand people sometimes. Me and glenn were talking about it today, but it really does get to me, it makes me nuts. That is, when people (cough all of my history class and over 80% of the school) try to talk, and they sayh many words, sometimes even with a nice use of vocabulary, but at the end of each sentence I realize I just listened to someone saying absolutely nothing. Everyone is so full of hot air, including myself, but i at least hold the DECENCY to keep my boring thoughts to myself. For instance I was trying to ask a specific question about linguistics to Larry because there was a key point I was trying to get to the bottom to (for purposes of this movie) when DAISY decides to explain to me what deconstructionism is. Like a) she knows whats shes saying and b) can create a sentence that holds any meaning what so ever in the world of "deep thought." It's converstaions like that that truly make me want to gag and slit my wrists.
