Episode 735 - A river in Egypt.

Good morning, hostiles. This is the real episode 735 - not like that fake episode 735. The comic was uploaded yesterday, but yesterday was too harried to let me actually get to a computer, believe it or not - or rather, the computer wasn't the problem, but finding an internet connection was ( Read more... )

That comic tugged at my heartstrings a bit. I did love the chart though.

Anyways, hi Sandra, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your work. I recently stumbled across FH (having read BmB back in its heyday) and caught up reading through the archives these past few days, and...wow. I love your artwork, it's become so defined through the years - it's simply amazing. But the thing that really gets to me about FH is the storytelling and character development, which is gold. I can't remember the last time I've been so emotionally invested in characters - Collin and Fox especially (but also pretty much everybody else in the strip), which is just a testament to your craft. I love how we've seen them develop over the years and mature so naturally, and I really hope they hold out together in spite of their diverging directions in life.

I think it's also great that you have a running commentary for the comic (he said after spending way too much time on a second readthrough ;). I love the details and background on things in the comic, and the sense of thought and care you have for it and the interaction you have as the creator with us readers really enhances and personalizes what's been, for me, already a rather personal experience reading FH. I'm sad that I jumped on so close to the end, but I'm glad I'll be here to see it through, and excited about your new comic (especially that we'll be seeing Fox and Collin again, and it won't be the end of these characters I've grown so attached to).

So, yeah - thanks for FH, and sorry for being so effusive. In short, FH is awesome, you rock, and I'm looking forward to OPB!

P.S. As a fellow scientist (biochemist here), I must say you rock even harder. Go scientists!

Hello. I meant to reply to this last week, but was a bit busy. :)

Thanks so much for letting me know that you enjoyed FH so much. I love doing the commentary, so I'm glad you like that, as well. :)

(Definitely not the end of Fox and Collin, merely a change of venue. :) )

PS - I wish we had some sort of scientific equivalent of the metal hand. Pipette hand?

Haha, pipette hand works. Maybe they're ergonomic, so our hands don't cramp. ;)

One of these days I'll get carpal tunnel....
