What do people think or feel about this story? I'm holding back from giving my opinions now, hoping that we'll hear different voices.

i find it disturbing that the doctors continued to try to push her away from the decision she wanted.

Like yesididit, I find it disturbing and offensive that the doctors tried to talk Amanda out of having the treatment she needed to safeguard her life. At no point did they express concern for the dangers of the op itself (if *that* was their worry), instead it was all "don't have the op, go for the alternative", even though the alternative was dying!

What kind of doctors are they?

I agree that these doctors behaved badly. Not at all professional. Did the lady actually get her tube fitted? I hope so.

Thinking about this story, I find that it returns me to my pro-choice opinion. Nobody should come under pressure to die, no matter how little 'value' their life might seem to have in others' view. But I think that nobody should come under pressure to live, either.
