No doubt I'm not the only person to have noticed that the spree killer who murdered dozens in an American school, a few days ago, is being described as a 'loner' and a 'Goth', an 'intelligent' boy who 'nobody really knew'. No doubt I'm not the only person to have wondered whether that lad were autistic. Stereotype rears its head!
I hesitate to write much about this, being no expert, and not having researched detail of the news reports. But there's been a good blog post by somebody who *is* expert and who'll see this post on
friendly_crips. I think it would be good to discuss the portrayals of that lad and his crime.
