Journal of the plague year (ok, week, but if feels like a year)

Bleh. Bad news. I have been horribly, horribly ill for the last few days and am still not properly recovered. In a blackly humorous twist, I managed, on top of everything else, to sneeze violently enough to wrench my left shoulder so painfully that it kept waking me up during the night. This wouldn't be so ridiculous if it hadn't been little over two weeks since my right shoulder recovered from an extended period of injury. Quite apart from being intermediately agonising, it's having a very annoying impact on restraint in particular, and my sex life in general. Grr!

The upshot of this is that, while I seem to be on the mend *crosses fingers*, I am not going to be well enough for all of this weekend's activities. Considering how I feel, a trip to Brighton seems like a very bad idea, since, if I really am suffering, I would be stuck far away from home. Also, I'm not really very good company right now as I'm mostly sniffly and whingy. This is very depressing as I was really, REALLY looking forward to tonight and I'm gutted I'm going to miss it! I hope I'll get the opportunity to do it again some time :¬((((( I am also sorry to miss werenerd's birthday celebrations, so I hope I can make it up to you when I'm feeling better - cake? (Cake makes everything better, or so I'm told.)

Hopefully, if I rest up well, I will be OK for a gentle potter round the Anarchist Bookfair tomorrow and some of janieluk's long-awaited Hallowe'en party, though I doubt I'll be heading off to Feeling Gloomy later. Anyone who is going and wants to know if I'll be there would be advised to give me a ring, since, as you know, my net access isn't the best.

In more annoying news, the doctor confirmed to me on Wednesday that the inexplicable dry itchy patches of skin on my legs are indeed eczema. So, at my age, I've developed eczema seemingly out of the blue. Very annoying, and also makes me wonder if my allergic reactions to everything are getting worse. Grumble, grumble. Also, for some reason, the computer won't play my new Dresden Dolls album, which I would rather like to hear before I go to see them! Dratted albums with videos on them. I guess it's back to the old-fashioned business of playing things on the stereo. How very last millenium.

I shut up now.
