Oh, those eccentric academics.

Today is my first day back at uni. I have completely failed to do ANYTHING on my project, because I can't find a damn thing in the subject area I want. Which is a bit panic-inducing. But never mind. I noticed a bit of a problem on the unit guide, which labels times for classes as "seminars 2-5" & "lectures 3-5". However, this week was labelled as "plenary", which appears nowhere else. So I rang our professor to check whether we start at 2pm or 3pm today, as this was a little confusing (see my nitpickery!). So we had the usual vague conversation (she's a bit vague as a rule), which ended something like this:

Her: It's a valid question. I didn't realise there was any ambiguity. Thanks for letting me know. Do you have anything before 2pm.

Me: No.

Her: I'll just have to put something up on Blackboard and hope people see it. Could you email all your friends on the course and let them know?

Me: Er, I don't have anyone else's emails, so not really.

Her: You don't have any friends?

Me: (!!!) No, I don't.

Her: Ah, alright then. [slight laugh] Thanks for letting me know.

Gosh, it's a good thing I don't suffer from social anxiety, isn't it!?
