Playstation 3 Nonsense
Originally uploaded by Fried Toast Picked up a couple used CDs for cheap the other day. Figured I'd throw 'em in my PS3 as I was playing around on my 5760 and my Lite-On DVD player died before leaving Hokkaido. No problem, right? Big ol' spiffy Blu-Ray player should be able to hand a pitiful CD, right? Right!
Well... not so fast. Insert the CD and it asked a bunch of mumbo-jumbo to connect to the net to display whatever it is they think I need to see. Well, I was scrolling through the blahblahblah part and get to the end. The only button left, as you can see, is the X Cancel button. Uh... how about NO? That's not the option I was to choose. I tried pushing buttons all over the PS3 controller trying to figure out what sort of hidden hoop they wanted me to jump through. Not sure I've ever been so frustrated just wanting to listen to a CD.
Not sure how I figured it out, but I had pretty much given up on it and its flagrant design stupidity, but ended up pushing something to the R (don't remember if it was a stick or button), but it went to a screen where I could continue onwards. Incredible.
Not sure who designed this part, but it's like they never finished and just rushed it out. Imagine that :P Someone needs to get on that and throw it in the next firmware update.
