Woke up to a slight electronic whirring noise. I'd turned on the driveway heater (to attempt to melt the 8 inches of snow on it) and thought that might be it. As I lay on the floor, the noise became clearer the more I listened. A printer. Inkjet printer. Aha. Downstairs neighbor Ryan was busy doing plans for his Engrish class, I bet.
Vaguely recalled having a dream about a gal named, "Channie." Thing is, that's not a Japanese name. Spelled that way, it'd be pronounced totally wrong. And I don't think it's a name I've ever even come across in a non-Japanese person. Could swear that I had a flash of the same dream yesterday. Weird. Wonder what that's all about. Seemed like this Channie person even had an entry in my keitai's address book- complete w/ picture. 分かりません!
Heard the wind blowing outside and I thought that perhaps it was warming up and the wind'd help melt off some of the snow around here. Metric buttloads of the stuff, so it'd be nice to have a little help moving it along. A few days before, we had a bit of a respite from the cold and it warmed up to 1-2C; just enough for the snow to get soft. Heavy, but soft. So I got some shovelling of the garage done (path to the oil tank since it needed filling) and made a more graded ramp into the driveway. PITA for most ppl to get in since it's so high. I've got a Toy Surf/4-Runner, so it's not a big deal for me. Anyway, I thought pleasant thoughts about what it'd be like outside; until I looked. Blizzard. Everything covered in WHITE. *sigh* So much for my dreamy paradise. Cold, hard reality smacked me upside the head. So much for hopes. Going to have to leave early today to make sure I'm not late. Can't hardly see out it's blowing so much. Not looking forward to that. Seems to be an inordinate amount of dumb@$$es that live in this area that can't factor in the thinking required to turn ones lights on during inclement weather. God forbid they should have enough sense to realize that the reason that they are almost hitting people head-on is because they don't have their headlights turned on in the middle of a white-out. I need to start carrying around a baseball bat and when I come across the @$%@ers, just clock 'em upside the head something good. I'd never get to work though- too many of these worthless wastes of space driving around. I'd never make any progress.
Enough of that. Gotta get ready so I can go down, shovel snow and head out into the Great Unseen.
頑張ります。
