Take that, BBC

Just wrote a little blurb to BBC to get their crap straight. I don't complain much. BBC's usually pretty decent. I don't check CNN.com much anymore now that I've got BBC RSS'd to my Bookmark Toolbar in Firefox.

Reading up about computer issues today, I came across this article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4003733.stm

It seemed fairly informative about computer problems. However, in a side blurb with the heading, "Oh no, my files," several bulleted stories are related regarding mistakes made by computer owners. The first one states, " One user put his hard drive in a freezer, after reading on the internet that this can fix malfunctioning hardware." Perhaps were the writer to research this online, the writer would see that there are more than ample cases of people being helped, rather than hindered, by this treatment. It seems disingenuous to suggest that trying it is only a fool's errand. I, personally, have tried it. And while it did not work as well as it has for others, it is not an idea without merit. Especially for those who are desperately attempting to salvage their precious information. Perhaps a little more investigation by this particular reporter is in order.

Thank you for your time.
